In partnership with Rockwood Capital, FCP purchased a 27 acre site formally known as "Mayfield Mall" in March 2012. Originally developed in the 1960's as a regional shopping mall, it was one of the first fully carpeted, air conditioned malls in the country and the premier peninsula shopping destination of its time. In 1986 the site served as a corporate office location for Hewlett Packard, and prior to FCP's acquisition, was purchased and entitled for single family homes by William Lyon Homes.
FCP developed a complex strategy to design, entitle, and transform the existing site into a creative, class A office campus incorporating the site's original architectural elements, utilizing green building methods and advanced building technology. In August 2013, in one of the largest transactions of the year, FCP and Rockwood signed a long-term lease with Google for the entire 520,000 square foot campus.
